Christmas Story

Christmas Story

Some times at this time of the year its easy to forget why we celebrate the Christmas Season, but its the one day in the year that every one remembers Christ after all this holiday though often times celebrated in a secular way is still spelled by starting with the word Christ. ( "Christmas" )  So as long as the Holiday is Called Christmas I thought it would be good to retail the Christmas story.    The story below will read a little choppy, but that is because I wanted it to have as few of my words in it as possible.  I have assembled a collection of text that best tell the wonderful Story of the first real Christmas, of course we all know that it may not have been Dec 25 but still this is the day that most people say the word Christ, hear and sing about his coming, and enjoy the meaning of the greatest gift of all time, a gift that can last an eternity if we accept it.

The Christmas Story:

Luk 2:7  And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Luk 2:8  And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

Luk 2:9  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

Luk 2:10  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

Luk 2:11  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Luk 2:12  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

Luk 2:13  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Luk 2:14  Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

But

Isa 53:3  He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Isa 53:4  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Isa 53:5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isa 53:6  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Isa 53:7  He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

And

Joh 19:30  When Jesus ....said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Then on the 3rd day

Mat 28:5  And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

Mat 28:6  He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Mat 28:7  And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

Now we can

Heb 4:16 .... come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We look forward to this promises

Joh 14:1  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

Joh 14:2  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Joh 14:3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Act 1:11  ....Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Mat 24:30  .... and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

And at last

Rev 21:4  ...God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Well I tried but some times the spell checker still beats me out of the right words... So some how I have sold the Christmas story with out even realizing I did it.  Instead of spelling re-tell the Christmas story I stated that "it was good to retail the Christmas story".... That's the problem maybe we are retailing the Christmas story instead of re-telling the Christmas story.  My spelling mistake really gives us something a little extra to think about.
